January Favorites

I cant believe January went by already! Hope everyone is is having a good start to the new year! We are just going to jump right in to my favorites for the month of January.

Pacifica Glow Greens Beauty Powder

So pacifica came out with beauty powders, one for sleep, skin, probiotics and stress. Im not going to lie, when I saw that they were coming out with supplements, I was so happy and wanted to try the one for the skin. I am finishing up my 1st bottle of the Glow Greens and will be opening the a second one in a few days. You don’t even know your drinking greens! It has a lemon flavor and is so good. I drink this every night with my vitamins.

UpSpring Reproductive Support

For a while now I have been battling with some pretty bad hormonal cystic acne along my jaw and chin. No amount of exfoliating or deep cleaners has completely cleared it up even with my spin brush. I didn’t want to be on medication, so I found an alternative solution. So far, I’m on my third bottle and my skin has not had a flare up once. It’s so clear and good looking its unreal. Mind blowing, honestly! I do still get the occasional, what I call pop ups (tiny/small zits that are gone by the next day) but nothing like before where it would be weeks going into months where I would have a cystic zit.

I mainly bought UpSpring Reproductive Support solely to try on the hormonal acne but it also has added benefits for reproductive health, and it also helps with female fertility and  libido. Shatavari helps with hormonal balance, Black cohosh supports increased fertility and pregnancy and Maca with  libido.

Overtone Vibrent Purple

Well I went back to purple hair and used the overtone vibrant purple deep conditioner. It smells so good and minty. I always go back purple, there is just something about purple hair, its my favorite.

Static Nails Glue

Im not sure what Staic Nails does with their nail glue but it is amazing. Their nails are great also but that nail glue is the shit. I also have use the glue with other glue on nail brands and it works just as well. Im talking, these nails aren’t going anywhere for 3 weeks. And did I mention the glue is only $4! I have tried other glues and after a day or two the nails pop off. Right now im trying to use up some of my other glue on nails from kiss and other brands that I have bought in the past before I buy more from Static Nails. But I will be ordering more from them for sure.

New Glasses

So I ordered some more glasses from Zenni Optical. I couldn’t decide between the the black or tortoiseshell cat eyes so I got both, and I’m so glad I did. I love the clear frames also! Not sure which ones are my favorites.

6 Ways For Using Twitter To Grow Your Blog

It is so strange to think I have been on twitter since about 2007 give or take, it was in the beginning. I no longer have that account and made a new one in 2015. I can’t remember what the reason was for, but I’ve been on twitter a long time. These last few years Twitter has been so helpful with growing my blog I even wrote a blog post it here 3 Reasons why is my blogs best friend. I wanted to share with you some tips that I found helpful to bring more traffic to your blog.

Following Others

Following others is a great way of connecting with others and building a community. There are no rules on following each other on twitter. But I would recommend that you follow people that you want to follow since it is your feed that your seeing. I would also recommend to follow a verity of people that are similar to your interests. If that makes sense. You might find someone that you normally wouldn’t follow this way. I know I have a few that I’ve found this way.

Following threads are nice to participate in and can get you a nice amount of new followers. Basically these are done by someone tweeting an announcement of their follow thread, asking you to follow them and to retweet their tweet, and then you follow all others who have retweeted the tweet. I like to do these throughout the month but paced out so it doesn’t like to spammy.

Again my advise would be, only follow people that interests you, and that you find to be enjoyable. you are not required to follow anyone you don’t want to.

Engagement

Link dropping and nothing else can look spammy. I know we all have lives and twitter might get put on the back burner. Even of you pop on for a few mins and send a tweet out, retweet somebody or like a tweet. Anything. Some kind of engagement is better than nothing. You can ask questions that may not even be related to blogging. Silly thoughts that may of come to mind or maybe something that happened that day.

Retweeting

Retweeting is that best way to show other bloggers support. Retweet their blog posts, leave them comments. Let them know you like their content! See anything else that your followers may like? Retweet it! I have a lot of UK followers and will retweet tweets that I think someone will appreciate.

RT Accounts

RT accounts are great! Using the hashtags of the RT accounts your tweets/posts are getting more exposure then they would of alone. Which is great for discovering new bloggers. When you follow RT accounts, you see all of the blog posts you might not have been able to see on your own.

Some shameless plugging here. I run Bloggingbeesrt, which retweets your blog posts to other bloggers. We have been up and running for a whole year now January 3rd. We have weekly threads which are, Recent Blog Posts Mondays , Wednesday Instagrams, Blogger Train Friday and Free for all Saturday.

Hashtags

Hashtags allow people who don’t follow you to see your tweets. But you don’t want to over do it and use too many. No more then 10 hashtags is best and use hashtags that are relatable to your post. It is so annoying when searching and having tweets/posts that have nothing to to with what you are looking for.

Schedule Tweets

Scheduling tweets in advance saves so much time, and has allowed me to promote my blog posts in the background. For a while now I have been using solely  Hootsuite  and schedule a week worth of tweets so that I have more free time and not always on social media.

Insert Menstruation Cup Here -Why I Made The Switch

For months I have been wanting to make this post after I made the switch last March from tampons and liners to a menstruation cup. I hated pads, they always felt like I was wearing a diaper. Not to mention in the summer, when it’s hot and sweaty. Ew, no thanks. Tampons did make my periods better and gave me more freedom but there were times they were just uncomfortable, like inside and they can leak. Liners where for the days I knew it will be starting or at the end.

Insert Menstruation Cup Here -Why I Made The Switch

Soo what is a menstrual cup?

A menstrual cup is a type of reusable feminine hygiene product. It’s a small, flexible funnel-shaped cup made of rubber or silicone that you insert into your vagina to catch and collect period fluid.

How to use a menstrual cup

If you’re interested in using a menstrual cup, talk with your gynecologist. You can buy one on online or in most stores, you need to find out what size you need. Most menstrual cup brands have a small and large size.

To figure out the right menstrual cup size for you, you and your doctor should consider:

  • your age
  • length of your cervix
  • whether or not you have a heavy flow
  • firmness and flexibility of the cup
  • cup capacity
  • strength of your pelvic floor muscles
  • if you’ve given birth vaginally

Smaller menstrual cups are usually recommended for women younger than 30 years old who haven’t delivered vaginally. Larger sizes are often recommended for women who are over 30 years old, have given birth vaginally, or have a heavier period.

Before you put in your menstrual cup

When you use a menstrual cup for the first time, it may feel uncomfortable. Before you put in your cup, lubricate the rim with water or a water-based lube (lubricant). A wet menstrual cup is much easier to insert.

How to put in your menstrual cup

If you can put in a tampon, you should find it easy to insert a menstrual cup. Just follow these steps :

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Apply water or a water-based lube to the rim of the cup.
  3. Tightly fold the menstrual cup in half, holding it in one hand with the rim facing up.
  4. Insert the cup, rim up, into your vagina like you would a tampon without an applicator. It should sit a few inches below your cervix.
  5. Once the cup is in your vagina, rotate it. It will spring open to create an airtight seal that stops leaks.

You shouldn’t feel your menstrual cup if you’ve inserted the cup correctly. You should also be able to move, jump, sit, stand, and do other everyday activities without your cup falling out. If you’re having trouble putting in your cup, speak with your doctor.

When to take your menstrual cup out

You can wear a menstrual cup for 6 to 12 hours, depending on whether or not you have a heavy flow. This means you can use a cup for overnight protection.

You should always remove your menstrual cup by the 12-hour mark. If it becomes full before then, you’ll have to empty it ahead of schedule to avoid leaks.

How to take your menstrual cup out

To take out a menstrual cup, just follow these steps:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Place your index finger and thumb into your vagina. Pull the stem of the cup gently until you can reach the base.
  3. Pinch the base to release the seal and pull down to remove the cup.
  4. Once it’s out, empty the cup into the sink or toilet.
  5. Rise well and make sure to clean any groves.

Cup aftercare

Reusable menstrual cups should be washed and wiped clean before being reinserted into your vagina. Your cup should be emptied at least twice a day. Reusable menstrual cups are durable and can last for 6 months to 10 years with proper care.

How much does it cost?

Menstrual cups are more cost-effective than tampons and pads. You can pay roughly $20 to $40 for a cup and not have to purchase another one for at least six months. Tampons and pads can cost up to $50 to $150 a year, depending on how often, long, and heavy your period is.

My thoughts

Since I have made the switch to my Diva Cup. Holy Balls! It has been a life changing experience. I hardly feel the cup, once I trimmed the stem and it settles in. Honesty I forget sometime I have my period. The best part, absolutely no leaks. Let me say that again. No Leaks. Nothing. You can wear your cute undies and not worry about ruining them. Or the bed sheets. Unless it wasn’t inserted right. Which does happen sometimes and is easy to fix by reinserting.

I have also saved so much money since buying and switching from tampons and liners to my diva cup. You also save on creating zero waste for the environment, since it is reusable. There is much lower chance of Toxic Shock Syndrome, since it is being collected and not absorbed. I really only have to empty it once in the morning and once before bed. I love mine. I can’t express it enough.

I will admit I still have liners tampons leftover from when I was using them and I had stocked up on them. I gave a majority of them to family members. I did keep some for my purse just in case my period starts early and I happen to be out and bout. Since last March I’ve only had to use them once, because it decided to start like 3-4 days early and I don’t like the idea of tossing my cup in my purse, even in its little bag or wearing it days before.

I have said this before but I love mine. It was worth the try and switching. I will never go back to tampons. Ever. I feel any one with a vagina should at lest give a mensural cup a try.

December Favorites

Static nails

These puppies stayed on for not 1 or 2 or even 3 weeks but 4! 4 weeks they stayed on. Holy. Fuck. They say you can reuse them but after I took them off i thought it was better to get rid of them. I must of used a little too much glue because there was quite a bit of glue under the nail. I bought these.

Overtone

I bought the Plumberry Kit with the extreme pink and vibrant purple. I decided to put some of the extreme pink over the dusty pink color I had and holy pink! I mean pink. Barbie pink. Its been a little over a month and its fading very nicely. I think my favorite part of coloring your hair a fun color is the fade out. Basically Overtone is a conditioning treatment with color and extra-hydrating ingredients.

Urban Decay Heat

I bought the Urban Decay Heat palette during a black friday sale from ulta for 50% off. Normally $54 and I got it for $27. The colors are gorgeous colors and they blend so well. I can use this palette with no primer if I choose to.

GlowSpin : Premium Facial Cleansing System

I have been loving this Spin Brush. This was another black friday sale from Vanity Planet. It came with 3 brush heads- daily cleansing facial brush, exfoliating facial brush, and silicone facial brush and 2 settings a lower speed for a gentle, everyday cleanse, or a higher speed for deeper exfoliation. My skin has been looking great for the past month since i have been using it.

My 2019 Planner Lineup

I love pen and paper, I grew up handwriting everything. There’s just something about writing with a pen on paper, unless you also grew up handwriting everything, I think you’ll understand what I’m saying. It took me a while to figure out what planners worked for me. I tried cramming everything into one planner but that didn’t last to long and things became cramped and messy. I have also tried to break everything thing down but i don’t like the idea of having separate planners all over.

Anyways my planner line up is very simple for 2019. I will have 6 planners total. But 3 will be all on 1 set of discs. I am trying what the planner community is calling, transformer planner. So I will have my main planner, journal and a moon journal all together on a set of discs, I will keep 3 months at time for each planner in this new system. So every three months I will replace the months out. Where as my social media and on the go planner are by themselves with the whole 12 months. Then we have my memory planner.

I feel this fixes my problem of wanting different planners for different areas but not so many planners, if that makes sense. Otherwise i have planners everywhere and I don’t like that, it makes me feel unorganized and everywhere. I also put the transformer planner on extender rings because of its chunkiness, even through I had such a hard time deciding between the black, white or clear blue discs that the planners came with originally . At first I did decide on the white that came with the Enjoy all things planner, but the plastic discs tend to break and the pages don’t move as smoothly when it gets chunky.

Main Squeeze

Enjoy All the Things Horizontal Classic is my main planner with everything in it, bills, to do lists, food shopping, meal planning, doctor appointments, budgeting, work, etc. It is also a themed planner, which I just love. This one is is adorable alone with out any stickers but I love decorating this planner. I have so much fun with it.

Journal

Modern Chic Horizontal Classic is more or less my place to write down thoughts. I also write down things might have happened that day, affirmations or quotes from books I’m reading. I try to write in it everyday, even if it is something small. This was the first horizontal planner I bought and I have not looked back. I love horizontal planning. I decorate with a few stickers but just enough for a little something since it is a pretty minimal and neutral layout.

Moon Journal

Agate Vertical Classic is used for my tarot readings and anything Woo Woo. This is my only vertical planner and it works out for the type of cards I pull daily. I pull a tarot card, oracle card and an affirmation card for each day, there are three boxes for each day. So this works great for this. I don’t normally decorate this one at all since I like to keep this one simple.

On the go

Keep Bright and Beautiful Mini will be on the go planner, just something that I can throw in my bag if I need to. I will mainly keep this one in my bag or purse. Sometime I decorate it and sometimes I don’t. Most of the time I add a few check lists and a quote or two. Thats normally it with this planner since its mainly for quickly writing down something.

Social Media

Miss Maker Mini is what I use for my social media planner. I keep track of Bloggingbeesrt, my twitter and blog posts. I feel it is the the perfect size for what I need it for, just enough white space and its horizontal. I find I can plan out better this way. I also don’t decorate this one to much since I like to keep this one simple and clean.

Memory Keeping

Life is an amazing adventure is for Memory Keeping. I tried it in October and hoping to pick it back up again for 2019.

So that it. That’s my line up for 2019. It’s simple enough and seems to be working well for the last few months of testing it out before the new year. I am really excited to see how the transformer method works for me. I would love to see what planner lineup you have.
