4 Tips on washing your hair less

I use to be someone that had to wash my hair almost everyday, especially when I had long hair down to the middle of my back. Now for the past 5 years I have had short pixie like hair, which at the moment, is now a jawline length bob. I only wash my hair 2 times a week max. Normally during the weekend and some time in the of the week. It was pretty easy for me to go longer in between washes since it was so short when I first started. If you have longer hair it might take a little longer to transition to fewer washes but is doable.

START EXTENDING WASHES

If your someone who washes your hair every day, try to make the switch to every other day. As you extend the time between washes, your hair will slowly produce less and less oil as you are no longer stripping your strands of the natural oils your scalp produces. Wash your hair less and you’ll notice that you will be able to extend even longer between washes.

Here are a few tips that can help with the transition for washing less.

TIP #1: DRY SHAMPOO

Dry shampoo is great for days in between washes. You can also spray your roots before going to bed. Adding some dry shampoo to your hair at night before bed will help absorb oil sweat and odor while you’re sleeping, which is when your scalp produces the most oil.

TIP #2 APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Mix ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water. Work it through your roots and rinse well with warm water. ACV helps to restore the scalp’s PH levels and removes buildup without stripping them from its natural oils.

TIP #3 DISTRIBUTING OIL

Gently brush through your hair with a real boar-bristle brush which will distribute the natural oils from your scalp through the length of your hair. Start at the roots and use fluid strokes to help the oil travel down the shaft of your hair. This is helpful before going to bed too. This will make your morning easier (less bedhead and knots), but it will also prevent the buildup of oil on the scalp overnight. The oil will wash away from the roots when you shower, it will prevent the buildup that can cause you to need to wash more frequently, and it will naturally conditioned

TIP #4 SHAMPOO

Stick to a gentle shampoo, that’s free of silicones, sulfate and paraben’s. Also don’t forget to brush before lathering up.

The first few weeks of training your hair may take some getting used to.

My 2019 Planner Lineup

I love pen and paper, I grew up handwriting everything. There’s just something about writing with a pen on paper, unless you also grew up handwriting everything, I think you’ll understand what I’m saying. It took me a while to figure out what planners worked for me. I tried cramming everything into one planner but that didn’t last to long and things became cramped and messy. I have also tried to break everything thing down but i don’t like the idea of having separate planners all over.

Anyways my planner line up is very simple for 2019. I will have 6 planners total. But 3 will be all on 1 set of discs. I am trying what the planner community is calling, transformer planner. So I will have my main planner, journal and a moon journal all together on a set of discs, I will keep 3 months at time for each planner in this new system. So every three months I will replace the months out. Where as my social media and on the go planner are by themselves with the whole 12 months. Then we have my memory planner.

I feel this fixes my problem of wanting different planners for different areas but not so many planners, if that makes sense. Otherwise i have planners everywhere and I don’t like that, it makes me feel unorganized and everywhere. I also put the transformer planner on extender rings because of its chunkiness, even through I had such a hard time deciding between the black, white or clear blue discs that the planners came with originally . At first I did decide on the white that came with the Enjoy all things planner, but the plastic discs tend to break and the pages don’t move as smoothly when it gets chunky.

Main Squeeze

Enjoy All the Things Horizontal Classic is my main planner with everything in it, bills, to do lists, food shopping, meal planning, doctor appointments, budgeting, work, etc. It is also a themed planner, which I just love. This one is is adorable alone with out any stickers but I love decorating this planner. I have so much fun with it.

Journal

Modern Chic Horizontal Classic is more or less my place to write down thoughts. I also write down things might have happened that day, affirmations or quotes from books I’m reading. I try to write in it everyday, even if it is something small. This was the first horizontal planner I bought and I have not looked back. I love horizontal planning. I decorate with a few stickers but just enough for a little something since it is a pretty minimal and neutral layout.

Moon Journal

Agate Vertical Classic is used for my tarot readings and anything Woo Woo. This is my only vertical planner and it works out for the type of cards I pull daily. I pull a tarot card, oracle card and an affirmation card for each day, there are three boxes for each day. So this works great for this. I don’t normally decorate this one at all since I like to keep this one simple.

On the go

Keep Bright and Beautiful Mini will be on the go planner, just something that I can throw in my bag if I need to. I will mainly keep this one in my bag or purse. Sometime I decorate it and sometimes I don’t. Most of the time I add a few check lists and a quote or two. Thats normally it with this planner since its mainly for quickly writing down something.

Social Media

Miss Maker Mini is what I use for my social media planner. I keep track of Bloggingbeesrt, my twitter and blog posts. I feel it is the the perfect size for what I need it for, just enough white space and its horizontal. I find I can plan out better this way. I also don’t decorate this one to much since I like to keep this one simple and clean.

Memory Keeping

Life is an amazing adventure is for Memory Keeping. I tried it in October and hoping to pick it back up again for 2019.

So that it. That’s my line up for 2019. It’s simple enough and seems to be working well for the last few months of testing it out before the new year. I am really excited to see how the transformer method works for me. I would love to see what planner lineup you have.

Bloggers Spotlight-Gaia-s

Here is this weeks Bloggers Spotlight, Gaia-s a blogger of environmental protection, nature, and ecology. Basically I sent out a tweet on twitter, asking who would like to be part of blogger spotlight by answering some questions for us to get to know them better.

* Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?

I’m Anja Debeljak, a student of Environmental protection science and I used to study ecology. The blog Gaia-s is my outlet for my ever-growing need to share the knowledge and inspire people.

My blog is about environmental protection, nature, and ecology. I aim to share the knowledge and connect people interested in previously mentioned topics.

*What inspired you to start your blog?

Gaia-s is actually my second blog, which I started with an idea to share my knowledge and be at least a bit useful.

My first blog, however, stared out of boredom, that later grew into a bit of a passion, that now formed into Gaia-s.

*Who are your three favorite bloggers or influencers and why?

My fave bloggers are:

– Honey (from http://honeysroyaltybeauty.blogspot.com/) she is my best (blogging) friend and stuck around ever since I started blogging. Also, she makes awesome nail art.

– Charlene (https://twitter.com/blogabtnothing1) and her amazing Beechat. She is super supportive and the chats she hosts are awesome.

-Seeking Science (https://twitter.com/seekingsci) a blog up my alley, I simply enjoy their posts.

*What inspires you to keep moving forward with your blog?

*My wish to share and support from other bloggers. Also, I’m pretty stubborn so that helps.

*What is one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to start their very own blog?

Blogging is tough; also you can’t expect people to do your work for you. YOU have to work for it, if people help you out, it’s just added benefit. Your blog is you and your passion. People in the blogging community will help you out, but don’t think they are obligated to do so.

Now that I scared you, I can tell you that once you get into it, it can become the best obsession and most beneficial hobby there is. Don’t give up.

December Goals

Here are some are some of my goals for the month of December. November wasn’t that successful for goals that I had in mind so I am hoping that December will be better.

No spend

Well last month for November did not work out, We didn’t really stick to it at all. I’m a bit disappointed by this. So for the month of December, I’m hoping to do better and have a no spend month on unneeded items.

Blogging

I had everything planned out but didn’t stick to it. Why, I don’t know. Life. By the time I get home from work, I’m tired and hungry. I make my dinner, hop in my bed and turn on my heating blanket to watch my YouTube videos. This month I’m going to try to work on blog post while watching my YouTube videos , hopefully this helps me stay on track.

Art

Honestly I haven’t really created much of anything in awhile. I have a few ideas but it’s just a matter of sitting down and starting.

Makeup

I haven’t played around with eyeshadow looks much in November, even though I got the Jacklyn Hill palette and the Boss Mood palette from Morphe. Those puppies are like butter. I think there was only one or two shades that haven’t really impressed me so far.

Daily Journaling

I really should get back into doing my planning/daily journaling, I was doing so well until the last few months I got out of the habit. Lately I’ve been feeling unorganized because of this. So I’m taking this as a sign to start back up.

November Blogger Spotlight

Here is this months Blogger Spotlight, Rakhi who runs not one but two blogs rakhijayashankar and jayashankarrakhi. Basically I sent out a tweet on twitter, asking who would like to be part of blogger spotlight by answering some questions for us to get to know them better.

1. I am a mother of four – one is my husband. That would be the prime thing I would like to tell about myself right now. Because I am a full time mother and part time blogger.

I have two blogs.
This is a book review blog. It was selected among the top 50 book review blogs in India.
This is my personal blog where I talk about anything and everything.
I am a published author too.
2. While I was hunting for publisher for my book, one of the publisher asked me to write a review of their book. That’s when I started Outset. Once it got clicked, I wanted to write about my thoughts on various subjects, which made me start Scrutiny
3. My three favourite bloggers would be
Tomichan Matheikal, Gary Waynerchuk and Mostly Sane. All three have inspired me with their unique thoughts and ideas and how they project themselves.
4. Books are my lifeline. I will keep reading books till the last breath and as long as I read the books, I keep blogging.
5. Don’t start a blog for fame or other perks. Only start them if you really have a love for words and literature.

I hope you enjoyed reading about this months blogger spotlight!
