9 Holy Grail Skin Care Favorites Of 2018

I wanted to make a list of items that I really enjoyed and repurchased thought out 2018. I feel that I have a good skin care routine now and I have my cystic acne under control with the help of this supplement. All of these products work really well for me and my skin. Also none of them break the bank.

Alba Acnedote Deep Pore Wash I really like using this to deep clean my face once a week when I use the exfoliating brush head on my facial brush. I bought the spin brush during black Friday sale.

Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes These do a great job of taking off any makeup that i might have on and they leave your face feeling clean. Honestly any of their wipes work well, but the cucumber wipes are my favorite scent.

Yes To Cucumber Micellar Water I like to use this for heavy eye makeup, eyeshadow, eyeliner or lash glue that I might have on. It does a good job of removing everything and cleaning my eyes. Again any of their Micellar water works, I just love the cucumber scent.

Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay I like to use this once a week to really get in the pores of my skin. As the clay dries it sucks all of the nasty junk out of your pores, think of it as a vacuum. Just make sure to moisturize after really well since it can be very drying.

MARIO BADESCU Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater I love this spray. I”ll admit i went through the first bottle a little too quickly because I keep spring myself with it. I like to use this after washing my face and right before applying my moisturizer. The smell is divine.

Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Mask This mask is my last step in my skin care routine. I have been using this since fall now and it does a great job with the couple of dry patches that I have on my face. It’s very hydrating and smells amazing.

Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash I use this wash daily. It has coconut water which is a natural toner, skin balancer and cleanser. The sea algae extract, helps with moisture content and brightness.

Pacifica Beauty Kale Lux Oil-Free Multi Cream I use this every night after washing my face and using the rosewater spray. Not a lot of people like the smell of it but honestly I like the smell. It is great for acne. After i run out i will most likely keep using it even though I seem to have my cystic acne under control by using this supplement.

FORMULA 10.0.6 Keep Your Cool Mask I use this mask whenever I have a breakout. Which consists of maybe one or two very tiny zits that appear around the time of my period. This mask will help with redness and shrink the zits.

Skin Care With Alba Botanica Acnedote

One of my favorite face care lines is Alba Botanica Acnedote. Since using them now for the last 3 months, I have notice such an improvement with my skin. I deal with cystic acne, along the hollows of my cheecks and chin area and what I like to call pop up acne, normal acne that comes and go. I still deal with some cystic acne but not as badly and or as long like before.

Cystic acne is when cysts form deep underneath your skin. This can be a combination of bacteria, oil, and dry skin cells that then get trapped in your pores in your skin and turn    in to a red painful bump. There would be times when I would have a cyst and it would hang out on my face for weeks at a time. The pop up acne never really bothers me since they will disappear on their own after a few days and are hardly noticeable.

I now use most of their line for me face. I use the wipes, face wash, astringent, spot treatment and lotion. Every single night, expect for the spot treatment. I use that only when I need to.  I also will use the face and body scrub that they have to and I really like it but ran out and need to buy another bottle.

I also picked up a cheap spin face  brush from walmart last summer for like $5 and use that with a scrub and face wash. This really makes my face feels clean and smooth. I highly recommend picking up a face spin brush and trying it out.

Every night I start with the Clean ‘N Treat Wipes to start removing any makeup that I have on my face. After that I then use the Deep Pore Wash to really clean my face and get anything the wipes might of missed. After that I use the Deep Clean Astringent.  Once that dries I use the Invisable Spot Treatment if needed and finish with the Oil Control Lotion.  I still use  The Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% & The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 2-3 times a week at night along with my other face masks from Formula 10.0.6.

In the mornings I will use  Yes to Cucumbers Calming Micellar Cleansing Water ,  Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream  and the before I do my makeup for the day. I only use the Night cream in the morning because the Oil Control Lotion by Alba doesn’t always sit well with my makeup for some reason.

As I said above, I have found to work well for me and I enjoy the simpleness of it compared to my last skin care routine, which you can find here,  My More Consistent Skincare Routine which I still love all of the products I used.

7 Things I’m Loving Right Now

I really enjoyed writing one of these blog post the last time. I think I might continue writing one of these every week. Basically I just tell you the items or things I’m loving.

  1. Cat ears headband by Etude House-How cute are these ears! I bought them on hush for $5.00. I love using this headband while I’m doing face masks.
  2. The ordinary- I bought a few of their serums to try out and I just love them. The peel mask is just awesome and is so much fun to apply. The alpha lipoic acid, vitamin c and zinc serum are really helping my skin. I can already see the difference in it so far after two weeks or so.
  3. Shameless – OMG. This show is nuts. My husband and I finally started watching it and I’m obsessed with it. I don’t know why we never watched it before. I believe we started season 2 already.
  4. Bath and body works candles – I recently took a trip to bath and body, but sadly I missed the candle sale. I wanted to get some spring scents of the three wick candles since they normally are like $20 a piece but when they have their sales $12. I ended up getting 2 of their single wick candles for $16. I picked the zodiac earth and the unwind candles. They both smell so good.
  5. Old Navy fleece jacket – Last weekend my husband and I went on what you could say was a mini vacation. While killing some time before checking into the hotel when stopped by the outlet mall and checked out the old navy store. I found a fleece jacket that was on clearance for $5, normally $26, but with the extra 30% off of clearance I ended up getting it for $3. I live in it. It’s so soft and warm, I want every color they have now. I bought the berry color because I can also wear it to work but I wish I would of bought the grey as well. I’m even wearing it with the cat ear headband.
  6. Kindle Fire HD – I love my kindle fire. I keep all my books on it. I take it to work so I can read while on break or even on the bus. I’m so glad I bought it so I don’t have to take my iPad Pro with me. It’s the perfect size.
  7. New hair color – So in my attempt to lighten my hair to more of a blonde shade so I could use my colorista shades. More pastel colors like lilac, peach, light blue and a light pink for the spring. Not all those colors at once but since they wash out after about 10 washes. I could have a new color almost every week. Well my hair did lighten up quite a bit. It went from a purple with slight pinkish highlights to more of a pinkish rose gold with a touch of lilac. I LOVE IT! I wish I could get a good picture of it.

2017 Beauty Favorites That I cannot Live without

If any of these products were to be stopped. I would cry. That’s how much I LOVE them. I have not found any other products that give me the results that they do. I reach for them just about everyday. So I thought I would share with you my favorites that I cannot live without.

Face

WATER BOOST SENSITIVE SKIN MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER

I had a coupon and want to try something that a lot of people were talking about. It takes off all of my makeup and does a good job getting everything. Even on days I don’t wear makeup, I still use this on my face. I have about a third left in the bottle and will be buying more.

ALBA BOTANICAL ACNEDOTE DEEP PORE WASH

Holy cow! This worked so well on my acne and scarring it’s unreal. It really gets into the pore and cleans them out. I love how it makes my face after washing it. It smells great as well.

FORMULA 10.0.6 KEEP YOUR COOL MASK

One of my favorite mask for calming down acne. It feels refreshing and cool when you apply. I’ve notice less redness and small zits the next morning when using.

YES TO MIRACLE OIL

Definitely a daily staple for me. I use this twice a day and it has helped with dryness from the winter, makes my makeup look great and not cakey because of the cold weather. Thanks winter. It also soaks in fast and leaves your skin so soft. Plus you can use it in your hair and body.

SO FREASH SO CLEAN FUNKY FACIAL CLEANSING POWER BRUSH

I wanted to give a facial brush a try and happen to see one at walmart while I was shopping. I paid only $6 for it and think it was well worth the money. I do plan on upgrading to one that has more brushes but not sure when that will be.

Hair

HASK CHIA SEED VOLUMIZING DRY SHAMPOO

This puppy soaks up any oil and makes your hair feeling great. This is the best dry shampoo so far that I have tried. Also smells awesome!

VERY VOLUMIZING POMEGRANATE SHAMPOO

Two things. 1 My favorite smell EVER. 2 Volume. Not much more I can say besides it’s natural and doesn’t has all that chemical crap in it. It does a amazing job on my fine hair. I will be needing a new bottle soon.

Body

ALBA VERY EMOLLIENT CREAM SHAVE

If it wasn’t weird, I would let everyone feels how soft my legs feel after shaving with this. And it smells great!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. What are some of your favorites?

Yes to Miracle Oil Review

Since I have finished up my Nourish Organics Rose hip Face serum, I have been using Yes to Miracle Oil Argon Oil, for the last few months. I had been looking for a new face oil and was having a hard time find one that wasn’t with an outrageous price tag. We happened to be at Burlington Coat Factory, browsing around while waiting for Floki to be done with his neutering appointment. I found it in the beauty aisle and thought why not. Normal price is $11.00 and I bought mine for $6.99. It comes in a 1fl oz solid white bottle with a dropper. So you get a lot for the price. I also have to hide it from Floki because he likes the rubber on the stopper and I found him chewing on it. Silly cat.

Yes to Miracle Oil Review

The description from their website:

“Yes to your glowing-self and brightening your day with Argan Oil! Argan Oil is a natural multi-tasking moisturizer that helps to nourish, brighten and condition skin. Perfect for the face, body and hair, this oil can be used anywhere that needs an extra boost of moisture. This lightweight, non-greasy oil absorbs easily and can be used alone or under makeup or moisturizer.

99% natural.

Formulated without Parabens, SLS and Silicones.

Leaping Bunny Certified”

I have been very pleased with this product. I use 3 drops morning and at night. One on my forehead and one on under each eye. Then I rub it over my face and rub in what ever is left over on my hands. I love how it makes my face and hands feel. You can even use it on your hair, which I have also done when I have a little extra leftover. There is a slight smell to it but I had to put it very close to my nose to even smell it. It also doesn’t leave your skin really oily, it soaks in pretty quickly for me and leaves my skin so soft.

I have also found that it works well when putting on my makeup. Expect,  don’t put it on your eye lids even with eyeshadow primer, your shadow will crease no matter what you do. At least for me it does. The Same goes with eyeliner, the liner won’t stick to your skin, it will rub off. To me a while to figure that one out. So when I do my makeup I just avoid my eyes with the oil altogether.
