March Favorites

Mariro Bascado Drying lotion

This last cycle of mine I had about 4-5 big fat zits on my face. Lovely. This made them disappear. This is my new best friend and all you need is a q-tip size do on the zit and some beauty sleep. Magic.

Coco Cabona Cream

Tropical island. Yum. Hydrating. Not much more to say, but smell it. Just don’t eat it.

Yes To Dual Ended Mask Tool

I was so happy to find this tool. It is so helpful with my skincare. The straight edge is to apply mask and the round edge helps lift peel masks. It’s also very easy to clean off and no more wasting product. Some masks do apply better then others and I will use my fingers for my nose and other harder areas.

EcoTools Facial Cleansing Brush

I like to use this guy when take off my makeup at night. The bristles are soft enough that I can use daily without making my skin red or irritated. Its also very compact & travel friendly. I still use my battery operated facial spin brush, for shower time with the harder bristle head for deeper exfoliation.

Litter Genie Plus Pail & So Phresh Odor-Lock Crystal Cat Litter

Im not sure how we have made it this long without the litter genie or using a non clay litter . For my two cats the genie holds up to two weeks of waste. Since we don’t use a clay litter anymore, it gives us a bit more room. I have yet to notice a smell coming from the genie. I empty it out every two weeks when I completely change the cat box. The refills last about 8 weeks or so. You can buy a 4 pack for about $20 and be set roughly for the whole year. Not bad in my opinion. Before we would use little doggie bags and throw them in the garbage. As for the crystal litter, it awesome. The tracking of litter is so minimal now. Occasionally there is a few crystals that get kicked out but nothing like before. The crystals also absorb the urine so there is less to scoop, which is also awesome. The bag does say that it can absorb liquid, waste and odors the box up to a month for 1 cat or two weeks if you have 2 cats. Like I said before I change it out completely every two weeks.

My More Consistent Skincare Routine

Since my My Nightly Routine or Lack of One post, my skin care routine it has changed. I am a lot more consistent with it. Some items I still use and some are new that I have found and enjoy.  It may seem like a lot to some but so far this has been helping my skin behave.

Also everything that I use is affordable, all under $15 depending where you choose to purchase and where you live.  I have linked every product that I listed to their website.  I bought these products from a variety places, such as Target, Walmart,  the products website or local health food stores near me.

Skincare Routine

Daytime

First lets start with the mornings and what steps I take to get ready for the day.

Toner

For toner I still use Dr Thayer’s Lavender and aloe vera with witch hazel toner ($10.95). I love how it smells and makes my face feels clean.

Spot Treatment

I use the Alba Botanica Acnedote Invisable Treatment Gel ($8.99). I just dab it on any zits that pop up and done.

Vitamin B3 Serum

I use the  The Ordaniry Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum by ($5.90).  Which helps with blemishes and can help brighten the skin tone.

Moisturizer

I also still use Earth Science Almond-Aloe Face Moisturizer ($10.99). Lightly scented and makes the skin feel so soft.

Then after that has soaked into my skin I apply my makeup depending on the day.

Night Time

At night I use a little more products and some of them are that same as the morning.

Makup Remover

For removing my makeup I will use Alba Botanica good & clean™
dual textured exfoliating towelettes ($4.72) or Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Micellar Cleansing Water ($8.99). Both of these work really well taking off any makeup I have on my face. I alternate each one for no reason I just rally like both. The towelettes are nice to have since they have a smooth side and a exfoliating side. The charcoal micellar water is pretty neat, it comes clear with charcoal on the bottom and when you are about to use it you shake it to mix the charcoal.

Face Wash

To wash my face I use Alba Botanica Acnedote Deep Pore Wash ($6.19). This face wash has really helped my troubled areas of acne, as long as im consistent with it my face behaves. I still will get the occasional small zit, which is normal and easy to deal with, but not so much of the huge painful cyst acne I frequently get. Those are just so painful, horrible looking and hard to deal.

Toner

For toner, I again use  Dr Thayer’s Lavender and aloe vera with witch hazel toner ($10.95).

Exfoliating Facial-2 times a week

I use The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ($7.20). AHA (Alpha hydroxy acids)  exfoliate the top layer of  skin for a brighter and even skin.  BHA (Beta hydroxy acids) exfoliates deeper in  the skin to  help clear pore congestion. Tasmanian Pepperberry which makes this peel reddish in color,  helps reduce the irritation associated with acids. The Vitamin B5 helps with healing and black carrot as an antioxidant. Since you only use 2-3 drops a few times a week this  bottle will last you  forever.

Spot Treatment

I use again if needed the Alba Botanica Acnedote Invisable Treatment Gel ($8.99).

Vitiman C Serum

I use the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% by The Ordinary ($12.90). Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant,  helps brightens the skin tone and reduces signs of ageing. Two drops is more than enough for you face and neck, this bottle has lasted me for months.

Antioxidant Serum -3 times a week

I use The Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% ($6.80). Alpha Lipoic Acid is a potent antioxidant and can restore skin appearance, improve skin texture and tone.  It is also very sensitive to sunlight so it is recommended to be used at night.  Again since you only use 2-3 drops a few times a week a bottle will last for ever.

Moisturizer

I then finish up with  Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream  ($15.00) at night.  It is on the pricey side for me, but a little bit goes a long way. I bought this on whim, since i was looking for a night.

Through out the week I do use other mud masks and peels that I have depending on what my skin is doing at that moment. I also have been using a spin brush that I picked up and I have notice a great improvement since pairing it with the Deep Pore Wash. But I think that will be another post in time.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading!

Favorite Beauty Products

Here are some products that I have tried and liked. I guess you can call this a quick review of items. Most of the items are ones that I repurchase if I really liked them. Since I have really fine hair, it doesn’t always respond well to certain products. Like oils, its really picky about the type of oil i use. So these products may or may not work for you. 🙂 They are not listed by greatness or any order. Also these are just a “few” that I listed.  I have many more that want to share.
