Bloggers Spotlight-Gaia-s

Here is this weeks Bloggers Spotlight, Gaia-s a blogger of environmental protection, nature, and ecology. Basically I sent out a tweet on twitter, asking who would like to be part of blogger spotlight by answering some questions for us to get to know them better.

* Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?

I’m Anja Debeljak, a student of Environmental protection science and I used to study ecology. The blog Gaia-s is my outlet for my ever-growing need to share the knowledge and inspire people.

My blog is about environmental protection, nature, and ecology. I aim to share the knowledge and connect people interested in previously mentioned topics.

*What inspired you to start your blog?

Gaia-s is actually my second blog, which I started with an idea to share my knowledge and be at least a bit useful.

My first blog, however, stared out of boredom, that later grew into a bit of a passion, that now formed into Gaia-s.

*Who are your three favorite bloggers or influencers and why?

My fave bloggers are:

– Honey (from http://honeysroyaltybeauty.blogspot.com/) she is my best (blogging) friend and stuck around ever since I started blogging. Also, she makes awesome nail art.

– Charlene (https://twitter.com/blogabtnothing1) and her amazing Beechat. She is super supportive and the chats she hosts are awesome.

-Seeking Science (https://twitter.com/seekingsci) a blog up my alley, I simply enjoy their posts.

*What inspires you to keep moving forward with your blog?

*My wish to share and support from other bloggers. Also, I’m pretty stubborn so that helps.

*What is one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to start their very own blog?

Blogging is tough; also you can’t expect people to do your work for you. YOU have to work for it, if people help you out, it’s just added benefit. Your blog is you and your passion. People in the blogging community will help you out, but don’t think they are obligated to do so.

Now that I scared you, I can tell you that once you get into it, it can become the best obsession and most beneficial hobby there is. Don’t give up.

Setting Intentions With The New Moon

A new moon symbolizes new beginnings and new intentions! New Moon Energy can be very powerful. Tapping into this energy can also support your dreams and desires. We can harness the energy of the new moon to fulfill our visions and make our desires come true by setting new intentions.

This is the perfect time to start fresh! You can also use the energy of a new moon to achieve new goals or to start a new project. Anytime during a new moon, take this time to reflect back on any goals you may have had in the past and set new ones for yourself.

Do not ask for too much, keep your list simple and realistic with maybe no more than 10 goals.

THE MOON PHASES

Each phase has its own energy and it’s different for everyone.

Below is a list of Moon phases, and the energy they create.

  • New Moon: New beginnings & fresh starts.
  • Waxing Moon: Building, accomplishments, creativity, growth and learning, positive transformation
  • Full Moon: Abundance, harvest, wish-fulfillment, manifesting desires, sexuality, achieving all dreams, protection
  • Waning Moon: Cleansing, releasing, shedding old patterns,
  • Dark Moon: Rest, Peace, deep wisdom, divination,

 INTENTIONS WITH THE NEW MOON:

Create a sacred place.
This can be an altar, desk, or corner in your home. Create a little area that is beautiful and reserved for your spiritual practices. This can be as elaborate or as simple as you want it to be. Make a space that makes you feel inspired & grounded.

Clear the space.

You can use sage a feather or a flame to clear the space you are working in.

Make a list.
I suggest writing them down and then speaking them loudly, by physically speaking them you symbolize your intention to manifest any your goals you have. Be clear with your intentions. Your intentions must not be focused on other people, you cannot change others.

New Moon Meditation.
When your list is complete spend 10-15 minutes meditating on it.

Close out the ritual.
Once your meditation is over, put your new moon intention list away until next month where you can go over it to see what has manifested. When an item on your lists becomes real thank the universe.

Udemy classes-What I’m Taking

Happy New Year!

I thought I would start the New Year by taking some classes online.

I am not sure if any you have heard of Udemy.  But its a site were you can take classes that others teach. Some are paid and some are free. I have a quite a bit that are on my wish list that are free and I have paid for 6 classes. The only time I pay for any of the classes is when they have sales. So the most I have paid for one is probably $12. They seem to have sales like that once a month or so. You can earn certitficates of completion which is cool.

What so nice about these classes is that you can take your time completing them. So at your own pace. The classes that I paid for  I have classes on Tarot Reading, Crystal Healing,  Certified Reiki Practitioner (Levels I, II and Master Level),  Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner,  Certified Crystal Reiki Master and Certified Mindfulness Practitioner (Level I, II, III & Master).

Most of them I bought in the summer/fall, but now Im starting a few classes.  The one that I started recentlyand enjoying is the Reiki (levels I, II, Master).  And I think Im going to also start the Mindfullness class as well.  Over the summer I  have already completed the Crystal Healing course and received a certificate.

I thought this is a neat thing to share. I love learning new stuff and I know I dont need to have a certificate but I want to earn one, especially for the Reiki.  Even if I dont use it for any other use but my own, for me, pets and maybe some family. Thats okay with me, to me it shows I took the the time to learn.  I also compared all the classes that I  bought before I jumped into it and I think I found the best ones for myself. There are a few more that I want to get but Im waiting for when they have a sale again. They  just have so many classes to choose from its unreal.

I hope you aleast check out the site and see if you find anything that seems interesting to you.
